DEMOKRASI PENDIDIKAN ISLAM
Abstract
Democracy can certainly shape the character of the community component that is able to uphold the values of freedom and difference in the diversity of society. Therefore, democratic policy initiatives can include: decentralization policies, the consequences of adequate human resource needs, adequate learning support facilities, and leads to the diversity of individual human potential aspects. The democratic system is a form of action that respects differences in principles, diversity (heterogeneity) of the values of society in a country. The logical consequence of applying democracy is to give freedom to act on each person according to his will within certain normative limits. The formation of a democratic culture in a country is largely determined by the application of the prevailing education system. Democracy in Islamic education has consequences for the formation of decentralization of authority, where the management of education will be largely determined by direct implementers, both managers, education staff, and the community in creating content or material, learning systems, including developing the quality of students. On the other hand, educational democracy will also have an impact on aspects of the curriculum, administrative efficiency, income and costs of education, and even distribution of public education.
