Abstract
According to Hamka reason can distinguish good and bad, with human reason can know God, with human reason can know the hidden thing, classical diera get the most important position that could bring Muslims to the highest civilization. But in the current reality, Muslims close the meeting on freedom of thought which results in Muslims not developing, in this situation HAMKA seeks to make the awareness of the importance of mind education as happened in the classical era. Reasonable education expected by HAMKA by synergizing with Heart education, because reason is unable to answer various problems, especially metaphysical problems. As the sluggishness of western thought which only focuses on material, brings them to the emptiness of the soul. Circumstances prove that energy between education and the heart must continue to unite in the educational process. With reason alone humans will experience the emptiness of the soul and vice versa with heart education alone will bring lethargy to think because there is no development of reason. Intellect and heart will be blown away and applied to healthy jasmnai. Without the support of a healthy mind and heart will not function properly.
