IMPLEMENTASI PENDIDIKAN ISLAM MODERAT DI PONDOK PESANTREN BAYT AL-HIKMAH KOTA PASURUAN
Abstract
In this paper the author tries to examine the moderate Islamic education contained in boarding schools. A moderate Islamic education is expected to provide values of coolness, peace and compassion for all of His creatures, and especially not only for Muslims (Islam Rahmatan Lil ‘Alamin). In this case, Islamic educational institutions in Islamic boarding schools must be able to print their students who have the character of affection, help, help, tolerance, and do not discriminate between other students, so that later there will be created noble people who are able to appreciate differences and tolerate. The background of this research is based on the increasing number of ideas and streams that are widespread among groups of students and students who are indicated in the name of the most correct group, and other groups are considered to be misleading and are not in line with the groups they follow. Therefore, in implementing moderate Islamic education the most effective way is to do in the boarding school environment. One of the boarding schools that have consistently applied moderate Islamic education is the Bayt Al-Hikmah boarding school in Pasuruan City. Through this institution students and students are expected to be fortified from understandings or schools that are not in harmony with the principles of Islamic teachings.
