AYAT- AYAT QASAM ALLAH SWT DALAM JUZ ’AMMA MENURUT TAFSIR AL-MARAGHI

Abstract

Referring to Arabic, the word qasam means swear. This word is synonymous with the words half and yamin. The word qasam is only to swear in a good sense, not offensive. Qasam is used to reinforce a statement, to emphasize a truth. The study method is thematic analysis (maudhu’i) by collecting verses in the same theme; swears or oaths of Allah SWT, and then describing the interpretation. Furthermore, this study explains the messages of verses con- taining swears of Allah SWT in juz ‘amma according to Tafsir Al-Maraghi. Basically, when Allah swears an oath (qasam), the messages of it have some relation to the object of qasam. This study found out the messages of qasam such as to show the greatness, the glory, and the power of Allah SWT, to show the benefit, goddness, and truth of some verses, to reinforce a statement, to make the words of Allah to be taken seriously that this is a serious speech that should not be taken lightly, and also to strengthen men to learn Quran.
