Ûlul Albâb is mentioned in sixteen verses in ten different surahs of the Qur'an. This research discusses the meaning of 'Alb Alb in Tafsîr Al-Qur`an Al-Azhîm by Abul Fida ’Imaduddin Ismail. This research applied analysis approach (maudhu’i tahlili) with library type of research. This research shows that Ibnu Kathir did not explain he definition of Ûlul Albâb clearly, but he explained the characteristics of Ûlul Albâb namely people who always think with an open heart in order to understand the Qur'an and follow Rasulullah Sallahu Alaihi Wassalam's guidance. They're people who have logic intelligence accompanied by faith and devotion (Ûlul Albâb), their glory will be elevated in this world and hereafter. It was also found that intelligence, in accordance to the meaning of ullul Albâb, includes two main themes, namely the willingness to accept the shari'ah of Allah Subhanu Wa Ta'ala, and the willingness to ponder upon the verses of Allah Subhanu Wa Ta'ala. These two main themes are still relevant in today's life, although some of the Shari'ah are not implemented. These themes can be said to be the elements of a person that should be carried out by a muslim in order to become Ûlul Albâb.v
