In the al-Qur’an there is the word al-’Adl which is almost a translation of the al-Qur’an and several literatures of the commentary book interpret it as “fair”. The meaning of al- ’adl itself is not only fair or put something in its place, but when viewed from the book of morals or when viewed from the side of the al-Qur’an the meaning of al-’Adl has a different significance. Therefore, we need to know the meaning of lafazh al-’Adl which is contained in the al-Qur’an. In the al-Qur’an there are 28 lafazh al-’Adl which are divided into several verses of the al-Quran. This study aims to determine the interpretation of lafazh al-’Adl by Ahmad Mushthafa al-Marâghî in the interpretation of al-Marâghî, and to find out the method he used in interpreting the verses containing lafazh al-‘Adl. The data collection technique used is the documentation method, and the research method used is the thematic method, namely collecting all verses containing the same theme, then explaining the interpretation. The results showed that the lafazh al-‘Adl described by al-Marâghî in his interpretation has the meaning 1) ransom: al-Baqoroh: 48,123, al-an’am:70, 2) fair: al-Baqoroh:282, an- Nisa:3,58,129, al-Maidah:8,95,106, al-An’am:115,152, al-A’raf:159,181, an-Nahl:76,90, asy- Syu’ra:15, al-Hujurat:9, at-Talaq:2, 3) balanced or comparable : al-Maidah:9, al-Infitar:7, 4) allies: an-Nisa’:135, al-An’am:1,150, an-Naml:60. In interpreting the verses containing lafazh al-’Adl al-Marâghî, using a combination of interpretation methods, some are explained by the ijmali method (global) and some are explained by the tahlili method (analysis).
