KENDALA BATIK YOGYAKARTA MENEMBUS PASAR GLOBAL

Abstract

Indonesian Batik after recognised by UNESCO as a masterpieces of the Oral andIntangible Heritage of Humanity has increased demand in global markets. The researchaims to identify the obstacles of Yogyakarta’s batik in penetrating the global market. Theresearch method use is interview method and analyze some source such as books, journal,previous research, article and internet source (Library research). The results conclude thatthe importance of the government’s role in assisting the batik industry in producing andable to carry out export activities of batik to global markets. The Empowerment of humanresources, social intervention by government, partnerships with stakeholders and the easeof international trade bureaucracy is the right strategy in encouraging the optimization ofbatik power in global markets in order to increase national economy.
