AbstrakWacana penundaan pemilu 2024 dan perpanjangan masa jabatan presiden mendorong munculnya aksi mahasiswa di sebagian daerah di Indonesia.  Wacana tersebut semakin kuat setelah Menteri Koordinator investasi dan kemaritiman, Luhut Binsar panjaitan mengatakan ada 110 juta pengguna media sosial  yang menginginkan perpanjangan masa jabatan presiden dan wakil presiden. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana norma tentang Periode Penyelenggaraan Pemilu dan masa jabatan Presiden  dan Wakil Presiden dalam UUD 1945 serta jalan konstitusional penundaan Pemilu dan perpanjangan Masa Jabatan Presiden dan Wakil Presiden. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian hukum normatif. Hasil penelitian yaitu UUD 1945 secara tegas menyebutkan bahwa Pemilu untuk memilih Presiden dan Wakil Presiden dilaksanakan setiap lima tahun sekali dan menyebutkan secara jelas bahwa masa jabatan presiden dan wakil presiden selama lima tahun, dan sesudahnya dapat dipilih kembali dalam jabatan yang sama, hanya untuk satu kali masa jabatan, serta ada jalan konstitusional untuk merubah norma tersebut dengan perubahan Pasal-Pasal dalam UUD 1945.AbstractThe discourse of postponing the 2024 election and extending the term of office of the president prompted student actions in several regions in Indonesia. The discourse became stronger after the Coordinating Minister for Investment and Maritime Affairs, Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, said that there were 110 million social media users who wanted an extension of the terms of office of the president and vice president. This study aims to determine the norms regarding the Election Period and the term of office of the President and Vice President in the 1945 Constitution as well as the constitutional way of postponing the election and extending the term of office of the President and Vice President. This research uses normative legal research methods. The results of the study, namely the 1945 Constitution explicitly states that the General Election to elect the President and Vice President is held every five years and clearly states that the term of office of the president and vice president is for five years, and thereafter can be re-elected in the same office, only for one time. term of office, and there is a constitutional way to change the norm by changing the articles in the 1945 Constitution.
