INTRODUCING LOCAL GENIUS-BASED HARMONY EDUCATION (PIIL PESENGGIRI) AMONG THE INDIGENOUS PEOPLE OF LAMPUNG

Abstract

This article presents the results of research on identifying local genius-based harmony education among the indigenous people of Lampung. The purpose of this study is to describe the noble values in local genius indigenous people of Lampung regarding the activities of a harmonious and peaceful life in the midst of multicultural society. The focus of the study is the philosophy of life in the Piil Pesenggiri tradition. As the "host" of culture, Piil Pesenggiri with its pillars, namely Nemui Nyimah, Nengah Nyappur, Sakai Sambaiyan and Juluk Adok, became the spirit and source of identity, dignity and nobleness of indigenous attitude Lampung. The data in this study were collected through interviews, observation and text review. The results showed that Piil Pesenggiri can play a role in developing the awareness of the importance of group life and encourage cooperation to achieve common goals. The values and philosophy of life contained in Piil Pesenggiri Ulung Lampung is a local genius that can be used as a media of harmony education that is cohesive as an adhesive element of inter-religious, cross-citizen and belief society.
