THE URGENCY OF RELIGIOUS UNDERSTANDING AND DIGITAL LITERACY TO MINIMIZE THE SPREAD OF HOAXES AMONG COLLEGE STUDENTS’ IN PANDEMIC COVID-19
Abstract
In the midst of the widespread of Covid-19 and the rapid progress of science and technology today, social media users in various circles are increasing. Besides, the spread of hoax information related to religious understanding is also rampant. A lack of religious understanding can be a trigger for the spread of excessive hoaxes. Then, to minimize this case digital literacy is needed. The purpose of this research is to provide awareness of the urgency of digital literacy and religious understanding especially for students’ college in Islamic Universities to minimize the entry of extreme ideas easily and the spread of hoax articles on social media. The Method of this research is Library Research. Based on the results, it was found that both of them are important rationale for the College Students' to literate carefully how the pattern of spreading hoax information, hoax sources, and other information especially in pandemic covid-19.
