The purpose of this research is to discover what the motivation factors of wearing the scrafts that encourage the students of islamic studies in Universitas Negeri Jakarta on using this essential scrafts are, particularly those who use it as the beginner since they get involved in the university. This research use the method of descriptive qualitative, which utilizes the observation, interviews, documentation, and reference as the techniques of gathering the data. The main theory which is used to be analysed on this research is the statement mentioned by Drs. H. Abu Ahmadi, he said that the factors that bring about an emerging the motivation are biogenetic, socio genetic, and teo genetic. Furthermore, Muhammad Izzudin Taufiq mentioned that motivation is one of the definition which pointed out some confusion which emerge due to psychological imbalance. The research conclude that motivational psychology is the main factor to the desire of wearing the head scraft for female university students.  Keywords: Use of hijab, the Muslim Student, UNJ  Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor motivasi yang mendorong mahasiswi Islam Universitas Negeri Jakarta dalam memakai jilbab, khususnya yang baru memakai jilbab semenjak memasuki kampus tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif-deskriptif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan studi pustaka. Teori utama yang digunakan sebagai alat analisa dalam penelitian ini adalah teori yang diungkapkan oleh Drs. H. Abu Ahmadi, bahwa faktor yang mempengaruhi munculnya motivasi karena biogenetis, sosiogenetis, dan teogenetis. MenurutMuhammad Izzudin Taufiq, bahwa motivasi merupakan satu definisi keniscayaan yang menunjukkan keterguncangan yang timbul karena adanya ketidakseimbangan psikologis. Penelitian ini menghasilkan kesimpulan bahwa faktor motivasi psikologis merupakan faktor utama mahasiswi Islam Universitas Negeri Jakarta dalam memutuskan untuk memakai jilbab.  Kata Kunci : Pemakaian Jilbab,  Mahasiswa Muslim, UNJ
