ARGUMENTASI DAN POSISI FATIMA MERNISSI DALAM MENJELASKAN HADIS MISOGINI
Abstract
This article discusses Fatima Mernissi's views on misogyny hadith. There are two main problems examined in this article, namely the hadiths that seem misgonistic or subordinate to women and Mernissi's view of the present that seems like that. In collecting data about the two main loci of this research, the author uses a literature study technique, namely collecting data from primary and secondary sources. After the data was collected, the writer conducted an analysis using the typological theory of hadith thought in Islam. After carrying out a series of processes, the author finds that Fatima Mernissi is a strong character in criticizing the political elite in Morocco who tends to use religious arguments in the success of political programs that are mostly issued by the male elite in her place. Mernissi commented a lot on these arguments, especially the issue of hadith. He commented on the misogyny hadith which is widely used as an argument to legitimize the political succession of the male elite. Mernissi uses a historical approach in researching traditions that seem misogynistic. If we look at Mernissi's writings on misogyny hadith, then his type of understanding of hadith is rejectionist-liberal because he tends to subordinate hadith under his mind.
