PEMBAHARUAN PEMIKIRAN ISLAM DI INDONESIA:
Abstract
This article discusses two main issues regarding Hasbi Ash-Shiddieqy's thoughts on fiqh al-hadith and the methodology of understanding hadith. In digging up data about the two main loci of this article, the author took from several sources from several books, newspapers, magazines or other related writings. This collection of data is processed using sociological-anthropological theory. After going through a long search, the author found that Hasbi Ash-Shiddieqy took a contextual approach by looking at the conditions behind the hadith, both micro and macro. This kind of interpretation is often found in thinkers who bring the spirit of renewal in hadith studies. This gave extraordinary expectations, because Hasbi released himself from the confines of the madhhab and tried to explore his own understanding of hadith.
