Education discrimination against of children with special needs (Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus) has long existed in Indonesia. So far, the education they can receive is limited to an isolated (exclusive) educational environment. There are at least 6 learning difficulties faced by children with special needs, one of which is dyscalculia or having difficulty learning mathematics, there are also dysgraphia difficulties and so on (Slavin, 2011). Based on interviews with teacher's class at SD Negeri Perumnas 5 on November 4, 2021, the data was obtained that there are only a few parents of children with special needs at SD Negeri Perumnas 5Â were involved in their children's education. In fact, parental involvement in education is very important. Apart from handing over their children to the school, parents also need to be taught how to handle their children at home to help their children develop optimally. To be able to have these competencies, it is necessary to do learning or training for parents. The implementation of education by empowering parents is one way to optimize children's development. This research uses descriptive qualitative research. The results of the study can be concluded that there are several factors that influence the difficulty of learning mathematics in children with special needs. The difficulty lies in the sector of understanding, receiving, or producing information that is quantitative and spatial in nature. From this research, we can conclude that the child with learning difficulties in mathematics must study harder and be specifically guided by the teacher so that it is in accordance with what we want.
