PEMBENTUKAN KARAKTER SISWA MELALUI PEMBELAJARAN TEMATIK

Abstract

The focus of this research is to examine the implementation of student character education through the application of thematic learning. This research is based on the teacher's efforts in shaping the character of students in schools through thematic learning. So far, character education in schools is still hampered by problems with the method or learning model. With this research, it is hoped that there will be new findings, related to the karate education learning model, as well as its influence on the formation of student character. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method, which is located at SD Negeri 050763 Gebang. The instruments used to collect data are in the form of observations and interviews. Meanwhile, the informants in this study were the principal, teachers and children. The results showed that the implementation of character education at SDN 050763 Gebang could be carried out well, this was measured by learning achievement, children's activeness, a pleasant learning atmosphere and being able to build student understanding independently. While the level of character formed from the learning is: (1) Honest Value 60% Cultured (MK), (2) Tolerance 70% Cultured (MK), (3) Curiosity 80% Cultured (MK), (4) Friendly /Communicative 85% Cultivated (MK), (5) Responsibility 75% Cultivated (MK), (6) Hard Work 60% Begins to Grow (MB), (7) Discipline 95% Begins to Develop (MB), (8) Creative 85% Starting to Grow (MB), (9) Appreciating achievements 100% Starting to Grow (MB), (10) Peace loving 95% Starting to grow (MB), (11) Caring for the environment 70% Starting to Grow (MB), and (12 ) love to read 85% Start Growing (MB). Abstrak Focus penelitian ini yaitu mengkaji tentang pelaksanaan pendidikan karakter siswa melalui penerapan pembelajaran tematik. Penelitian ini didasari oleh adanya upaya guru dalam pembentukan karakter siswa di sekolah melalui pembelajaran tematik. Selama ini pendidikan karakter di sekolah masih terhambat oleh persoalan metode atau model pembelajarannya. Dengan adanya penelitian ini diharapkan ada temuan baru, terkait dengan model pembelajaran pendidikan karate, serta pengaruhnya terhadap pembentukan karakter siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode deskriptif kualitatif, yang bertempat di SD Negeri 050763 Gebang. Instrument yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data yaitu berupa observasi dan wawancaa. Sedangkan sebagai informan dalam penelitian ini yaitu kepala sekolah, guru dan anak. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pelaksanaan pendidikan karakter di SDN 050763 Gebang bisa dilaksanakan dengan baik, hal ini terukur dari ketercapaian pembelajaran, kekatifan anak, suasana belajar yang menyenangkan serta dapat membangun pemahaman siswa secara mandiri. Sedangkan tingkat karakter yang dibentuk dari pembelajaran tersebut yaitu : (1) Nilai Jujur 60% Membudaya (MK), (2) Toleransi 70% Membudaya (MK), (3) Rasa ingin tahu 80% Membudaya (MK), (4) Bersahabat/Komunikatif 85% Membudaya (MK), (5) Tanggung Jawab 75% Membudaya (MK), (6) Kerja keras 60% Mulai Berkembang (MB), (7) Disiplin 95% Mulai Berkembang (MB), (8) Kreatif 85% Mulai Berkembang (MB), (9) Menghargai prestasi 100% Mulai Berkembang (MB), (10) Cinta damai 95% Mulai berkembang (MB), (11) Peduli lingkungan 70% Mulai Berkembang (MB), dan (12) gemar membaca 85% Mulai Berkembang (MB).
