Information technology application to environmental education- research in some primary schools in Can Tho city

Abstract

The research is carried out to evaluate the status of information technology (IT) application to environmental education (EE) and to analyze/ identify factors that impact on the effectiveness of EE with IT application at selected primary schools in Can Tho city. The sociological survey method by interviewing through questionnaires is used in the research. Primary data of 60 teachers in 12 primary schools in NinhKieu, Cai Rang and PhongDien district is collected by non-probability sampling method. The data is analized by Binary logistic regression model. According to the research results, the percentage of teachers who usually do searching and updating information and relevant documents makes up the largest proportion and the ratio of teachers who have never made movies, images, and cartoons for teaching is too high. The research has found out factors such as basic software skills, advanced software skills, the availability of personal electrical devices or own family members/colleagues/friends, and personal attitudes have impacts on the effectiveness of EE.
