Abstract

In the Structure of Scientific Revolutions, T.Kuhn has made important contributions to the theory of paradigm. First, adding meaning for paradigm. Second, showing two basic characteristics to identify paradigm: not duplicated and often limited. Third, confirming the role of paradigm in helping normal science to extensive knowledge and solving puzzles. Fourth, the paradigm shift:Fantasy- crisis -Scientific revolution. His theory of paradigm has value in creating the development landmark of the philosophy of science; changing human perception of science; building standards for normal standards. However, paradigm theory also has drawbacks: limiting the creativity and the development of the scientific community; his view of paradigm brings him closer to the idealism.
