Application of artificial neural network in fault diagnosisfor power transformer at Kontum power transmission - Power Transmission Company No. 2 (PTC2)

Abstract

Nowadays the demand of electricity transmission is increasing and the problems from natural disasters and climate have affected the operation life of transformers in substations of transmission grid. Therefore, it is imperative to continuously monitor and fault diagnose in power transformers. In this paper, the general mathematical model of a power transformer is established considering the faults. Based on this, a method of fault diagnosis for power transformers is proposed with the mathematical model combined with an artificial neural network. The input data of the mathematical model and artificial neural network can be obtained by measuring devices in the substation of the transmission grid. The solution diagram of this paper is also for integration into the SCADA system of 220kV substations of Kontum Power Transmission- Power Transmission Company No.2 (PTC2). To verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, the simulations are performed on Matlab software.
