Reality of internet addiction in students of Le Do Lower Secondary School, Son Tra district, Da Nang city
Abstract
This cross-sectional study with the surveyed objects including 423 students aims at analyzing the reality of student Internet addiction at Le Do Lower Secondary School, in Son Tra District, Da Nang City. The findings show the fact that 98.3% (416)of student participants are using the Internet. Girl students make up 51.7% and boy students account for 48.3%. 39.7% (168) of student informants are found to be addicted to the Internet. In particuar,, 79.2% are addicted at mild level, 20.2% at moderate level, and 0.6% at severe level. The study result has also revealed the difference which is of statistical significance between the Internet addiction and the students’ genders, their grades, Internet accessing tools and the amount of time spent using the Internet per day (p<0.05).
