Experimental verification of water flow rate through the flat plate collector loop of solar hot water system

Abstract

– Nowadays, the solar domestic hot water systems are rapidly increasing due to the development of population, tourism, and industries. Therefore, it is essential to improve the performance of these systems. This paper presents the experiemtal results of the verification of water flow rate through the collector loop to improve the performance of the solar hot water system. This system was designed and installed in campus of the HCMC University of Technology and Education. The study results have indicated that the value of the water flow rate through the collector loop at 7,92 lit/min gives the highest value of useful heat gain of 19,38 kWh corresponding to the energy consumption of pump of 2,3 kWh and the initial water temperature in the storage tank of 30 oC.
