Assessment of water quality in the main river in Ho Chi Minh city with industrial planning and residential development
Abstract
Abstract - Ho Chi Minh City has a dense network of canals; however, most of these canals have been seriously polluted by waste water from domestic activities as well as industrial zones. This paper focuses on assessing water quality in the main rivers and canals in Ho Chi Minh City with the industrial planning and population development by MIKE 11 Ecolab. The results show that: when the planning of industrial parks works, combining population development, the concentration of BOD and COD will increase in 5 canal systems: Nhieu Loc - Thi Nghe canal system, Tan Hoa - Lo Gom canal, canal Tau Hu - Double channel - Te canal, Ben Nghe canal, Tham Luong channel - Ben Cat - Vam Thuat.
