The synthesis and the catalytic activity of AgTCNQF/CuTCNQF hybrid materials

Abstract

– AgTCNQF/CuTCNQF hybrid materials are synthesized via galvanic replacement method by immersing the Cu foil covered with a CuTCNQF layer in AgNO3 solution. The dependence of the structure and property of the material on the concentration of AgNO3 solution is investigated. The hybrid materials are characterized using SEM, XRD and IR spectroscopy. It is shown that AgTCNQF is formed on the surface of CuTCNQF over the entire range of studied AgNO3 concentration. In addition, at high concentration of AgNO3, the formation of Ag nano particles can also be detected. The catalytic behavior of the hybrid materials is examined on two redox reactions, [Fe(CN)6]3- with S2O32-; Cr2O72- with C2H5OH in H2SO4, showing that their catalytic activity is high on both reactions and is enhanced with the increase of AgNO3 concentration.
