Myths and literature: An overview
Abstract
The relationship between literature and myth is one of the topics which has received special attention from scholars worldwide. Myths are the magic stories associated with rituals and religions. The readings of myths need to be put into the cultural spaces where the myths arise. Myth is considered the origin of literature. Literature is not only constituted by myths but also constituted to express myths. Myth is supersign whose independent nature makes it possible to travel to later literary texts. It is the rebirth of myths in literature. Through the study of the transition of myths from Folklore to literature, this article focuses on analyzing the overview of the relationship between literature and myth.
