Maturation culture and spawning stimulation of dusky frillgoby (Bathygobius fuscus Ruppell, 1830) in Hai Phong

Abstract

The study uses the mixture of different foods (squid, shrimp, trash fish, commercial feed) and different levels of salinity (12‰, 15‰, 18‰) for maturation culture of Dusky Frillgoby. Different mixed doses of LRHa, HCG and DOM, different levels of salinity (12‰, 15‰, 18‰) and different shelters (net cage, plastic pipes, white plastic sheet) are used to stimulate spawning of fish. The results of study show that the broodstock of Dusky Frillgoby maturely cultured in short term using the mixture of feed (60% trash fish + 20% squid + 20% shrimp) and reared at the salinity of 15‰ will give the highest maturation rate, 77.0% and 81.1%, respectively. Females of Dusky Frillgoby injected with the preliminary dose of 20µgLRHa and the second dose of 30µg LRHa, 1000UI HCG and 10mg DOM/1 kg body weight can perform the highest spawning rate (60.0 %). The highest spawning rate is also recorded by using plastic pipes as shelter (71.11%) and water of 15‰ (72.2%) to stimulate spawning of fish
