IMPROVING THE STUDENT’S READING COMPREHENSION BY USING GUIDED IMAGERY STRATEGY AT THE 3RD SEMESTER STUDENTS OF ENGLISH DEPARTMENT AT IKIP GUNUNGSITOLI YEAR 2015/2016

Abstract

Reading comprehension is a skill every collegers ought to master. However, the ability of the 3rd semester students of English department of IKIP Gunungsitoli, class B, was at low level. By applying the Guided Imagery Strategy through CAR research method, their ability was developed intensively and sistematically. After 3 cycles, the result were : (1) the students ability in reading comprehension was developed, and; (2) several factors occurred as the influence to the skill, namely the material, media, classroom activity, classroom management, strategy and teacher’s approach.
