DAMPAK KONTESTASI ELIT BIROKRASI TERHADAP SITUASI MASYARAKAT LOKAL (STUDI PASCA PEMEKARAN KABUPATEN NIAS)

Abstract

The contestation of bureaucracy elite after regional expansion in Indonesia has become a matter of much discussion in various studies, because it is thought to be one of the reasons for the failure of the regions to achieve its objectives, since such practices have become a vehicle for elites to fulfill their desires, ambitions and power. Moving on from the issue of identity, the researcher wants to do a study of the phenomena that occurs in Nias Island, which is one ethnic entity, precisely in its development after being divided into 4 new regencies, giving rise to identity discourse through the division between "us" and "them". However, the phenomenon that occurs in Nias society now raises a question mark, purity as the division of an identity or just a strategic in mastering the resources in the region, because after all the expressions that arise in the midst of the Nias community have shaped the social structure of the community feels disaggregated in different regions but actually is the same.
