DINAMIKA DAN RUANG KONTESTASI ELIT BIROKRASI PASCA PEMEKARAN DAERAH DI KEPULAUAN NIAS
Abstract
In general, in an area where the people have more pluralistic identity such as religion and ethnicity, they come up with this kind of identity because they are considered useful to do contestation for power over political and economic resources. But it is also possible that the practice of politics’ identity has also become the modus operandi even in homogeneous societies.After the division of Nias Regency, the contestation of the local elite, especially among the elite bureaucrats in each autonomous government, has become a challenge for integrated development in the Nias Islands. As if being autonomous means being truly independent and living alone not wanting to be with the existence of others around him.This phenomenal questions in what arena these bureaucratic elites show each other's identity. Through qualitative research, the research problem is described and bureaucratic elite positions and the Central Government Fund Transfer becomes an arena for identity prominence.
