THE EFFECT OF “THE SOUND OF MUSIC TECHNIQUE” ON STUDENTS’ LISTENING AT THE NINTH GRADE OF JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL

Abstract

Background: The act of listening involved complex affective, cognitive, and behavioral processes. Students have confronted difficulties in their mind, such as classroom strategy in teaching listening. Problems: “Is there any effect of Sound of Music Technique to the students’ listening achievement.. Data: obtained the significant effect of Sound of Music Technique on students’ in learning listening at the ninth grade of junior high school.. Purpose: to find out the significant effect of Sound of Music Technique on students’ abilityin learning listening at the ninth grade of junior high school. Design:applying experimental research which were consisted of two classes IX- A and IX- B. IX-A class is experimental class, while IX-B class is control class Results:The average in the experiment class on the pre-test is 45 and for post-test 90 while I control class on the pre-test 30 and for the post-test  60, the homogeneity that obtained the two sample are homogeny, Hypothesis testing t count = 10,725and t table = 1,667. The data obtained the overview that t-count >t-table. Conclusion: Ha is accepted which means there is a significant effect of Sound of Music Technique on students ability in listening at the ninth grade of junior high school.
