MODEL KURIKULUM PENDIDIKAN EKONOMI ISLAM DI PERGURUAN TINGGI UMUM DAN ASIA TENGGARA

Abstract

One of the critical issues faced by educational institutions offering Islamic economics is development of curriculum. Structure of curriculum will determine the outcome of education process. This paper attempts to analyze curriculum structure of Islamic economics education at bachelor level offered by public universities in Indonesia and South East Asia. It selects Bogor Agricultural University and Airlangga University to represent public university in Indonesia and International Islamic University Malaysia to represent South East Asia. It also makes comparison on the systems prevailing in these three universities. This paper discusses attempts to standardize the curriculum at South East Asia regional and possibility to set up an association of Islamic economics study program which can be the media to share and strengthen the network among universities in the region.
