The Effect of Using Comical Pictures to Improve Students' Writing Skill
Abstract
The points of this research were to know whether the use of the comical pictures had significant effect to improve students’ writing skill or not and on behalf of discoveringstudents’ perceptions concerned to the application of the comical pictures in writing skill. This research adopted quasi experimental research method with two kinds of instruments were in the form of written test which planned into pre-test and post-test employed to answer the research question number one and the supported instrument was questionnaire employed to respond the research question number two. Thence, the gained data of the pretest-posttest were analyzed using SPSS version 22, in which the researcher found the score of the Sig. 2 tailed was 0,000 < 0,05moreover, the t-test indicated preponderance scorecompared the t-table (6.700 > 2.085). In other words, the use of the comical pictures had significant effect to improve students’ writing skill.The further instrument employed questionnaire which adopted Lickert scale theories. The gaineddata of the questionnaire of the percentage 100% and based on the rating scale in the point between 81 and 100 indicated that the mean score was 84 which definitely regards to strongly agree. It could be summed, the students who were taught by using the comical pictures belonged to these categories; comfort, pleasure, useful, motivating, interesting, preference, assisting, and enjoyable.
