Perubahan Pola Ekonomi Masyarakat di Kawasan Pabrik Sirup DHT, Kabupaten Gowa
Abstract
This study describes the changes in the economic pattern of the community in the DHT Syrup Factory Area. The presence of the DHT Syrup Factory industry has had an impact on the community around the factory area. This influence, of course, has a positive and negative impact on the economic pattern of the surrounding community. Changes in economic patterns such as the increasing diversity of people's livelihoods and the opening of job opportunities that can improve people's lives. On the other hand, the presence of industry also invites the interest of people outside the area to work in the factory. This research is a field research using qualitative research methods. The data collection technique used is through literature review, observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the existence of the DHT Syrup Company did not bring significant changes in economic behaviour because the salary they received was not comparable to what the workers did, so that the workers returned to their initial jobs as farm laborers. The thing that is more influential in changing the pattern of people's economic behaviour is because of the massive development of land into housing so that it brings newcomers to the area and makes the area more crowded than before.
