Era Disrupsi: Tinjauan Kritis HMI Menghadapi Revolusi Industri 4.0

Abstract

The development of science has been increasingly rapid in coloring the life of human history. This is marked by the emergence of various technological sophistications in various fields. The emergence of this technology is a form of human gratitude for science itself. The world finally recognized the name of the industrial sector for the first time through an important discovery from a James Watt (1736 – 1819). James Watt invented and developed the steam engine. This discovery later became the basis as well as the forerunner of the birth of a new technology. Now, by us, known as the industrial revolution occurred in England. This phenomenon occurred in the 18th century and then spread throughout the world. The Industrial Revolution to date has experienced developments. It is starting from the first generation industrial era, second generation industry, to the third generation industry. And now, what we are facing is the fourth generation industrial era or what we know as industry 4.0. Indonesia as a country in this position willingly and unwillingly has to face this as a hope as well as a challenge. Moreover, our country with the fourth largest population in the world after China, the United States, and India with the largest number is the younger generation. Moreover, the discourse that is being developed for now is also a “Demographic Bonus” for the youth of this nation. So the Islamic Student Association (HMI) must act as a struggle organization and in fact its members are young people (students). So that it becomes something complete and real if the industrial era 4.0 is faced as a form of struggle, both organizationally and ethically.
