Peran Guru dalam Mempertahankan Cultural Heritage Indonesia dalam Membentuk Karakter Siswa di Sekolah Indonesia Kuala Lumpur
Abstract
This research was conducted with the aim of describing the role of teachers in maintaining Indonesia's cultural heritage in shaping the character of students at the Kuala Lumpur Indonesian School. The method in this research uses qualitative methods. Data collection techniques using interviews and non-participants. Data analysis techniques use data presentation, comparison, and presentation of research results. The results of this study are (1) the concept of Indonesian cultural heritage at the Kuala Lumpur Indonesian School is carried out by implementing the 2013 curriculum which optimizes the ability to think and must be balanced with character abilities, one of which is the character of the national spirit which will later be able to maintain cultural heritage, this is proven by the existence of batik uniform wearing program, scouting training, and so on. (2) barriers that arise in maintaining Indonesia's cultural heritage, namely environmental factors, educator factors, and student factors. (3) The role of teachers in maintaining Indonesia's cultural heritage at the Kuala Lumpur Indonesian School, namely working with the Indonesian Embassy to contribute with students at the Kuala Lumpur Indonesian School to display some of Indonesia's cultural heritage at various events, carry out activities strengthening Indonesian culture through classroom learning in arts and extracurricular subjects (angklung, martial arts, pencak silat, and Indonesian dance) as well as school culture such as ceremonies and daily activities at school.
