Islamism Based Education in The Formation of Characters of Students

Abstract

This article tries to examine  Islamism-based education at SMPIT Generasi Muslim Cendekia Lombok Tengah. This school exists as an effort to integrate knowledge based on Islamism and secularism in its curriculum formation. The aspect of Islamism emphasizes the formation of piety in religious rituals, while the secular aspect emphasizes the foundation of scientific knowledge. Therefore, this article wants to explain two things: First, how is the historical construction of Integrated Islamic Education. Second, how is the process of Islamism-based education at SMPIT Generasi Muslim Cendekia Lombok Tengah in its correlation to the character building of students. To answer these two problems, this article uses  qualitative method, and hegemony theory approach. The data sources were obtained from observations, interviews and documentation. Then carry out the data analysis stage: data reduction, data display, data verification and contain conclusions.
