Modernity, Psychology of Religion and the Problems of Islamic Education

Abstract

Modernity and positivist reasoning are considered markers of the progress of civilization, because they have given birth to scientific and scientific theories. However, on the other hand, modernity and positivism also cause a void of spirituality and religiosity. Even this problem also affects the paradigm of Islamic education. Thus, this article wants to explain; First, what is the urgency of the psychology of religion for humans in the midst of the symptoms of modernity and posivisitivism. Second, how to construct the Islamic education paradigm in stemming the waves of modernity and positivism reasoning
