Korelasi Kecerdasan Emosional dengan Hasil Belajar Siswa

Abstract

This study aims to determine the correlation of emotional intelligence with student learning outcomes in VII grade students of SMPN 3 Keruak This study was conducted in VII graders. Researchers do not use samples but study populations. All class VII students consisting of 2 classes, namely class VII1 and class VII2, totaling 68 students were used as research subjects. In achieving these objectives researchers used quantitative research methods. The data collection methods used are the observation method, the questionnaire method, the test method, and the documentation method. To determine the effect, researchers used the product moment statistical method. The relevant data used include questionnaire results on quantitative intelligence (variable X) and quantitative data on learning outcomes (variable Y). Based on the research results obtained, that the calculated r value obtained is 0.76, followed by the t test obtained 9.5654 while in the column of 5% significance level with dk = n-2 in the distribution of table t we find the number 1.6679. This number shows a significant limit. Because the tcount obtained 9.5654 is above the significant limit, it can be said that the calculated value is greater than the ttable value (9.5654> 1.6679), the tcount obtained is said to be significant. So we can conclude that emotional intelligence has a positive or significant correlation with social studies learning outcomes of Grade VII students of SMPN 3 Keruak in the 2019/2020 academic year.
