Efforts to Improve Mathematics Learning Results Using Cooperative Methods Tournament Team Games Model

Abstract

Learning activities with games in the TGT model of cooperative learning allow students to be more relaxed in learning as well as to increase responsibility, cooperation, healthy competition and learning involvement. The TGT type of cooperative learning which has unique characteristics, namely the existence of inter-group competitions, is expected to be able to motivate students to study even harder because there is something new in learning which in essence has become a daily habit. This study aims to improve student learning outcomes in mathematics subjects. In this study using the method of observation with quantitative research type. The population in this study were all students of grade IV SDN, totaling 22 students. As a sample, one class was taken using observation and test techniques. Based on the test results (pretest and posttest), the learning outcomes of students in learning mathematics have increased in each cycle. This can be seen from the average acquisition of posttest scores in cycles I, II, and III that has increased, namely the average post-test score in cycle I is 65.9%, the average value of cycle II is 75%, and -The average value of the third cycle was 82.73%. So it can be concluded that there is an increase in learning outcomes in mathematics subjects. From this research it can be concluded that based on the results of the observation and test sheets (pretest and posttest) using the TGT type of cooperative method can increase learning activities and learning outcomes in mathematics.
