Learning Model Contextual Teaching And Learning to Improve Student Learning Outcomes in the Multiplication of Integer Counting Operations
Abstract
The background of the research problem is the low learning outcomes of students in mathematics on the multiplication of integer operations in class IV SDN as indicated by the class average value of 43. Based on this background, the researcher made improvements by applying the CTL learning model. The objectives of this study were: (1) To describe the learning outcomes of grade IV SDN students on integer multiplication operations using the CTL learning model. (2) To describe the learning activities of the fourth grade students of SDN on the multiplication of integers using the CTL learning model. The method used in this research is classroom action research (PTK) model Kemmis & Mc. Tagart which consists of two cycles, each cycle consisting of 4 stages, namely: planning, implementing actions, observing and reflecting. The instruments used in this study were tests, observation sheets, interview sheets, and cameras. The approach used is a quantitative research approach which is analyzed statistically descriptive. The results showed that: (1) The use of the CTL learning model can increase student learning activities, it can be seen from the student activity when the learning process in cycle I is 72.22 and has increased in cycle II to 88.88; and (2) The use of the CTL learning model can improve student learning outcomes. This can be seen from the mean results of each cycle, namely the first cycle of 63.00 and the average value of the second cycle of 82.00.
