Program sertifikasi guru di negeri ini telah berlangsung selama sepuluh tahun, dimulai sejak tahun 2005 hingga sekarang. Namun demikian hasilnya belum sesuai dengan harapan untuk mewujudkan guru profesional dengan indikasi masih rendahnya kinerja guru. Rendahnya kinerja guru sekaligus juga menunjukkan masih rendahnya kualitas pendidikan di negeri ini. Oleh karena itu, perlu adanya penelitian tentang kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan kinerja guru. Dengan menggunakan metode kuantitatif penelitian ini berusaha menjawab pertanyaan-pertanyaan seperti, apakah kepemimpinan transformasional dan kompetensi manajerial kepala sekolah berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap kinerja guru di Madrasah Aliyah Negeri seluruh Kabupaten Tulungagung? Apakah kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah dan kompetensi manajerialnya secara simultan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja guru di Madrasah Aliyah Negeri seluruh Kabupaten Tulungagung Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, kesimpulannya adalah kepemimpinan transformasional dan kompetensi manajerial kepala sekolah berpengaruh positif terhadap kinerja guru di Madrasah Aliyah Negeri seluruh Kabupaten Tulungagung dan kepemimpinan transformasional serta kompetensi manajerial kepala sekolah berpengaruh signifikan secara simultan terhadap kinerja guru di Madrasah Aliyah Negeri seluruh Kabupaten Tulungagung. Teacher certification program in this country has been going on for ten years, since its inception in 2005. Based on the results of data analysis concluded both transformational leadership principals and competence managerial principals significantly influence the performance of teachers in Madrasah Aliyah throughout Tulungagung, and transformational leadership and managerial competencies principals simultaneously significant effect on the performance of teachers in Madrasah Aliyah throughout Tulungagung.
