Abstract

On the process of construction of the ship ± 80% job is welding, where the skills and potential of highly infl uential on the outcome of the work. Standard welding wire consumables desperately needed in order to fi nd out the needs of the welding wire for welding work overall. This research aims to know the consumables of the welding wire and prevent the occurrence of uncontroallable needs in the development of aluminum vessels. Using the MIG welding process for butt joint 45° and 60° positions down the hand (1G), horizontal (2G), vertical up (3G) and fi llet joint 45° and 60° on the position of the down hand (1F), horizontal (2F), vertical up (3F). The data obtained by measurements and observations directly in fi eld welding of aluminum boats on the job. Then, the data processed and analysed using ANOVA (Analysis of Variance). So the standard equations obtained consumable welding wire (kg), in which the function is a function of x and y is a function of the thickness consumable of the welding wire being used (kg). On the connection type butt joint 45° position 1G Y= 0,1033x-0,2811, 2G Y= 0,135x-0,4006, 3G Y=0,135x-0,4017 and butt joint 60° 1G Y= 0,0917x-0,1861, 2G Y= 0,1433x-0,4133, 3G Y= 0,1417x-0,3939. The equation of a standard consumable welding wire with connection type fi llet joint 45° 1F Y= 0,1017x-0,2717, 2F Y= 0,135x-0,4006, 3F Y= 0,135x-0,4006 and fi llet joint 60° 1F Y= 0,0933x-0,1889, 2F Y= 0,1283x-0,3439, 3F Y= 0,14x-0,39.
