Efek Penambahan Bahan Bakar Research Octane Number (RON) 90-Ethanol dengan Pemakaian Busi Tipe Dingin terhadap Performasi Mesin Matic 115 CC 1 Silinder

Abstract

The Fuels have an Octane Value Research Number (RON) 90 that have characteristics similar to ethanol. This research will analyze engine performance that used the 115 cc automatic transmission system by cold sparkplugs, the performance analyzed were power, torque, mean effective pressure, specifi c fuel consumption and thermal effi ciency. The fi rst test in this research by the mixture of fuel-ethanol 35% and 45%, the second test was engine performance at 4000, 5000, 6000, 7000, 8000, 9000 rpm to use the cold sparkplugs nickel, iridium and platinum. The results have indicate that a mixture of 35% fuel-ethanol by engine rotation range of 7000 rpm results in a maximum performance of 4,25 kW, torque of 5,80 Nm, specifi c fuel consumption of 0,46 kg/kW.h, the effective pressure average is 628,88 kPa and thermal effi ciency is 23,70%, while 45% ethanol fuel mixture at 7000 rpm engine speed shows a maximum performance of 4.40 kW, torque of 6.98 Nm, specifi c fuel consumption is 0,43 kg/kW.h, the mean effective pressure is 756,86 kPa and thermal effi ciency is 27,7%.
