Abstract: This study aims to determine the effect of private investment on employment in the tourism sector in Palopo City. Labor and unemployment are one of the complex problems that are currently a concern for the government, not apart from the Government of Palopo City. Absorption of labor in the tourism sector in the City of Palopo can provide inspiration for the government especially in the tourism sector so that investors are interested in investing in the City of Palopo. Investment is one of the economic activities that is able to absorb real labor, especially in the tourism sector. With the knowledge of the absorption of labor in the tourism sector, the government is expected to further improve the tourism sector in Palopo City so that the number of unemployed will decrease because it has been absorbed in the tourism sector. This study uses multiple regression analysis methods and all data in this study are macro in nature, using secondary data (time series) that are quantitative. The estimation results show that private investment has a positive and significant effect on the performance of the tourism sector in Palopo City. Keywords: Private Investment, Labor Absorption, Tourism, Palopo City Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh investasi swasta terhadap penyerapan tenaga kerja sektor pariwisata di Kota Palopo. Tenaga kerja dan pengangguran merupakan salah satu masalah kompleks yang saat ini menjadi perhatian bagi pemerintah, tak terlepas bagi Pemerintah Kota Palopo. Penyerapan tenaga kerja pada sektor wisata di Kota Palopo dapat memberikan inspirasi bagi pemerintah khususnya di sektor wisata sehingga para investor tertarik untuk berinvestasi di Kota Palopo. Investasi merupakan salah satu kegiatan ekonomi yang mampu menyerap tenaga kerja secara nyata khususnya di sektor wisata. Dengan diketahuinya penyerapan tenaga kerja di sektor wisata, maka pemerintah diharapkan akan lebih memperbaiki sektor pariwisata di Kota Palopo sehingga jumlah pengangguran akan semakin berkurang karena telah terserap di sektor pariwisata. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis regresi berganda serta seluruh data dalam penelitian ini adalah bersifat makro, menggunakan data sekunder (time series) yang bersifat kuantitatif.
