Pendidikan di Indonesia meluncurkan pendidikan karakter, yaitu pendidikan yang bertujuan untuk membangun karakter siswa untuk menjadi intelektual yang beradab. Tapi itu menjadi anomali, karena pada kenyataannya para siswa terkadang meremehkan gurunya. Ini berarti bahwa disini pendidikan Indonesia belum menemukan formula yang tepat untuk konsep ini. Berbeda dengan konsep pendidikan Islam, dimana pendidikan Islam lebih komprehensif dalam membentuk karakter siswa, yaitu melalui penguatan semangat keimanan dan adab mereka. Dengan kata lain, dalam literatur sejarah kurikulum pendidikan Islam ada dua, yaitu kurikulum iman dan Alquran. Setelah iman dan Alquran siswa yang kuat maka mereka mengakui ilmu terapan, seperti sains, ilmu sosial dan sebagainya.Education Indonesia is launching Character Education, which is education that aims to build the character of students to become civilized intellectuals.
