MILLENNIAL NETIQUETTE IN NETSPEAK PRACTICE AND NET LINGO: ANALYSIS OF THE CONSENSUAL HALUSINATION PHENOMENA

Abstract

Millennials imagine social media such as Whats-app and Instagram as real space to communicate, with the same results as communication in the real world. This research aims to uncover textual digital communication practices that involve both netspeak and net lingo and consensual hallucinations by millennial generation on social media by using the phenomenological method. The form of consensual hallucinations related to the use of social media by millennials. Millennials, as social media users that they consider social media as their personal property. Social media as a free and equal place so that there are no restrictions like the real world. Social media guarantees anonymity so that everything is done "safe" in social media. Textual communication that occurs in social media will be considered to have the same level of effectiveness in the real world.
