ABSTRAKPembangunan daerah yang semakin kompleks di era otonomi daerah sekarang ini, mengakibatkan persaingan antar daerah menjadi semakin ketat. Supaya kesejahteraan masyarakat tetap stabil dan bahkan semakin meningkat, pemerintah daerah harus meningkatkan daya saing wilayahnya. Agar pembangunan daerah lebih terfokus, salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan adalah mendeteksi sektor unggulan daerah tersebut. Maka dari itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sektor unggulan di Kabupaten Sleman supaya pemerintah daerah terfokus dalam mengembangkan daerahnya. Pendekatan shift share (SS) dan location quotient (LQ) digunakan dalam menganalisa sektor ungulan Kabupaten Sleman. Sehingga didapat kesimpulan, sektor unggulan Kabupaten Sleman adalah sektor kontruksi, sektor transportasi dan pergudangan, sektor real estate, dan sektor jasa perusahaan. Kata Kunci:  Sektor Unggulan, Kabupaten Sleman, Shift Share, Location Quotient ABSTRACT Development of an increasingly complex area in the era of regional autonomy today, resulting in interstate competition becomes tighter. For the welfare of the community to remain stable and even increasing, local governments must improve the competitiveness of their territory. In order to more focused regional development, one effort that can be done is to detect the region's leading sectors. Therefore, this study aims to determine the leading sector in Sleman District so that local governments are focused in developing the region. The shift share (SS) and location quotient (LQ) approach is used in analyzing the sector of Sleman District. So in conclusion, the leading sector of Sleman Regency is the construction sector, transportation and warehousing sector, real estate sector, and the service sector of the company. Keywords: Superior Sector, Sleman District, Shift Share, Location Quotient
