TRADISI MAPEED DALAM PIODALAN NADI DI PURA KAHYANGAN TIGA DESA PAKRAMAN SUKAWATI, KABUPATEN GIANYAR (Kajian Bentuk, Fungsi dan Makna)

Abstract

Mapeed is a local tradition to accompany my uncle Pura Kahyangan Tiga who will take holy water at the source of the sprinkled water which then made wangsuhpada (tirtha) to be distributed to all devotees. The implementation of Mapeed tradition is inseparable from the role of the people of Pakraman Sukawati Village, offerings (banten), chanting and tetabuhan gong that support the implementation of the Mapeed tradition in Pakraman Sukawati Village. This is different from the general Mapeed done by the people of Bali in general that the implementation of Mapeed is only done by adults only by using pakian kebaya, and its implementation is done one day only. In addition, many people have not understood the form, function and meaning of the Mapeed tradition..The results of the field study illustrate that the Mapeed tradition consists of history, time, place of execution, the execution of the Mapeed tradition and the procession of the Mapeed tradition from the early stages to the final stage in which the role of society is very great in the implementation of this tradition. The function of Mapeed tradition is divided into three functions, namely religious function, social function and cultural preservation function. The meaning contained in Mapeed Tradition is the meaning of harmony and balance, the meaning of philosophy and aesthetic meaning.
