THE EXISTENCE OF MAQA>S}ID AL-SHARI>’AH IMAM AL-SYATHIBY IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE SHARI'AH ECONOMIC LAW, is about the study of maqa>shid al-syari>‘ah imam Al-Syathiby in economic development of Shari'ah, conception maqa>shid al-syari>‘ah, the implications of maqa>shid al-syari>‘ah and urgency maqa>shid al-syari>‘ah in the economic development of Shariah today. This paper was written with a philosophical approach by trying to examine in depth the development of maslahah based economy. With the results of the study show that the maqa>shid al-syari>‘ah so far was the basis of the existing Islamic economic development in Indonesia. Due to the nature of this paper examines maqa>shid al-syari>‘ah, then the author does not discuss Indonesia's economic characteristics. EKSISTENSI MAQA>S}ID AL-SHARI>’AH IMAM AL-SYATHIBY DALAM PERKEMBANGAN HUKUM EKONOMI SYARI’AH, berisi tentang kajian maqa>shid al-syari>‘ah imam Al-Syathiby dalam perkembangan ekonomi syari’ah, konsepsi maqa>shid al-syari>‘ah,implikasi maqa>shid al-syari>‘ah dan urgensi maqa>shid al-syari>‘ah dalam perkembangan ekonomi syari’ah dewasa ini. Paper ini ditulis dengan pendekatan filosofis dengan berusaha mengkaji secara mendalam perkembangan ekonomi berbasis maslahah. Dengan hasil kajian yang menunjukkan bahwa maqa>shid al-syari>‘ah sejauh ini merupakan dasar pengembangan ekonomi Islam yang ada di Indonesia. Karena sifat makalah ini mengkaji maqa>shid al-syari>‘ah, maka penulis tidak membahas karakteristik ekonomi di Indonesia lebih mendalam.
