PERUBAHAN STATUS KELEMBAGAAN PERGURUAN TINGGI AGAMA ISLAM: STUDI PERUBAHAN IAIN MENJADI UIN DAN STAIN MENJADI IAIN

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the factors behind the change in the institutional status of PTAI (STAIN to IAIN, and IAIN to UIN), change in institutional status of PTAI (STAIN to IAIN, and IAIN to UIN), and the impact of changes in PTAI institutional status (STAIN become IAIN, and IAIN becomes UIN). This study uses a qualitative method. The results of the study found that the policy on changing the institutional status of the State Islamic University from IAIN to UIN and from STAIN to IAIN had not been implemented optimally. The implementation of the policy has only occurred in the quantitative aspect, not yet touched on the qualitative aspect. An increase in the frequency of policy communications, an increase in the number, resources (human, financing, and infrastructure), as well as an expansion of the bureaucracy. But everything has not been matched by the quality of the performance of human resources, which actually becomes the core of the management aspects of higher education.
