MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MENYIMAK MELALUI MENDONGENG DENGAN MEDIA WAYANG KERTAS

Abstract

The problem in this research was whether through storytelling with paper puppets (wayang kertas) can improve listening comprehension of group B students of Early Childhood Education Program of Tunas Harapan Bengkulu City. This research aimed to improve listening skill of early childhood students through storytelling with paper puppets media. The subject of this research was group B students with the total of 16 people consisted of 8 male students and 8 female students. This Classroom Action Research was conducted in two cycles, every cycle had three meetings. The technique of collecting the data was conducted by doing observation and interview. The data analysis technique was done by using mean test. The research result showed that through storytelling with paper puppets media in learning activity can improve listening skill of early childhood students. It can be proven by observation result that had reached 80% of learning mastery or the score of 4.0 at the end of the second cycle, the students’ listening score was 4.41 or classified as good category. From this research result it can be suggested for the teachers to improve the listening skill of early childhood students through storytelling with other puppets (wayang) media such as wayang kulit, wayang rumput, wayang kresek, and wayang klithik
