The developments of the times always affect the development of people’s lives. The touch of religion and culture has always emerged since ancient times, as the development of religious teachings. Ancestral traditions are still embedded in the hearts and lives of people, because it is tradition that comes first than the teachings of religion. Thus the life of society can’t be separated from traditions. Every religion and tribe has their own traditions/cultures, one of them batak (Christian) who has a tradition of marriage and death. After the mixing of batak (Christian) society with Islamic society, the tradition is also touching. Islam and Christianity can’t be united in the field of Worship, there is no word of tolerance. However, tradition / culture here can be one of the unifying factors of society, which is seen in the social field. The tradition of Batak society (Christian) one of them Parsubang in marriage and death, is a form of social interaction of the community and contributes to prevent the division of society.
